Urban Micro Wedding in Liverpool

AN URBAN MICRO WEDDING IN lIVERPOOL

Relaxed day...

Initially, the wedding industry were concerned about what micro weddings would be like, given the fewer guests and no dancing or kisses. However, as we moved forward, we soon realized that, despite these changes, there were still plenty of emotions and beautiful moments to cherish.

One of the best outcomes of such a stressful time was, surprisingly, how relaxed everything became. As a result, the usual pomp and ceremony, along with expectations of perfection and pressure, vanished completely. Consequently, couples and guests simply enjoyed spending time together, celebrating in any way they could.

... relaxed style

The atmosphere of the day was significantly more relaxed; therefore, Jess chose her outfit accordingly. She wore a stunning jumpsuit paired with a fringed bolero from Catherine Deane, and she completed her look with a turban-style headband. This ensemble was not only perfect for a city wedding but also offered a more structured and polished appearance than the typical wedding dress.

For accessories, she opted for a pearl-handled handbag by Cult Gaia, a timeless NYC label, and she carried a striking bouquet in burgundy and cream from Agnes & Bee, which is based in Liverpool. Her hair and makeup was, as ever, left in the trustworthy hands of Hannah Booth and Jayne Littler.

THE LOVE OF LIVERPOOL

After the ceremony, the three of us eagerly explored the city, stopping at some of the most interesting backdrops Liverpool has to offer. From the grand esplanade outside St. George's Hall to Water Street in the busy Business District, and from the graffiti-covered walls of the trendy Baltic Triangle to the untouched industrial streets of the Dock Road. Each historic location showed a completely different side of Liverpool city centre; we had two elegant city spots and two raw and gritty spots. A perfect way to commemorate the city Jess & Nick have adopted as their own.

There were lots of funny moments along the way too. I vividly remember us all laughing as the confetti bomb flew the wrong way, discovering questionable items on the ground near the abandoned warehouses, and the smoke bombs creating an epic moment that I'll never forget. Additionally, I was thrilled to share the day with my partner, Tom, who kindly offered to be our chauffeur so we didn't have to worry about traffic wardens on our journey.

Note to future self

This ultra-stylish urban micro-wedding in Liverpool was a complete success from start to finish. Jess and Nick made the most of their time together, which, as we know, a typical wedding schedule often doesn't allow. It was truly admirable how they turned a challenging period into something positive.

I’m so grateful that I could help bring their vision to life. As we move forward, I genuinely hope that our industry, along with all the lovely couples planning their weddings, takes this lesson to heart. After all, we should not let the pressures of expectation overshadow the joy that should accompany a wedding day.
