Workshops

Have you ever looked at an amazing styled wedding shoot and wondered “how on earth did they do all of that?” Have you ever wanted to know who arranged the shoot, was there a planner, did the photographer pay the suppliers, who are these perfect photogenic couples, is this ethereal location even on earth!?

If so, you have come to the right place!

Before I became a wedding photographer, I shot mainly fashion and events. I absolutely love editorial fashion, whether in or out of a studio, and a lot of my experience in this area is used when setting up my styled wedding shoots. Combined with shooting around 70 of my own weddings and working with various kinds of wedding couples, I find myself totally ready to pass on all of my knowledge to you!

Over time, I have discovered that styled shoots are an incredibly important and integral part of becoming the kind of wedding photographer you dream of becoming. Not only does it stir your creativity when you’re otherwise going crazy beneath a sea of wediting or when you’re just not finding the right weddings for you, but it also brings you together with wonderful wedding industry suppliers (who may refer you to their clients later on!). Styled shoots can also garner a hell of a lot of free advertising through wedding blogs or proper promotion of your own blog/social media outlets, it even begins to change wedding fads by introducing to the public new and inventive ideas for styling weddings. And most importantly of all – it presents your true shooting/editing style to your potential couples. Whether you prefer to shoot quite traditionally or completely off the wall, by simply having the freedom to shoot whatever you love most, you should begin to attract those elusive “perfect” clients.

Styled wedding shoots can be loads of fun, however I totally understand that the preparation can be a lot of work and incredibly time consuming. Which, in itself, is off-putting! While you may already have the inspiration, you need to also have the confidence to contact fellow suppliers and ask them to provide their services; you need to have the get-up-and-go to start putting actual plans into motion, you need to be able to balance your time between client work and personal work, you need to TAKE FUCKING CONTROL. And this is what I hope you will learn when you take part in my workshop

During one of my workshops we will…

    • Interact with one another, tell a little story about how we came to be a photographer, why we are taking the course, maybe play a few ice breaker games… I like making you squirm 😀 it’s the first step in growing a pair of balls because successful photographers cannot be shy and retiring!

    • I will talk to you about my past experiences with personal and client photoshoots and how I have set up my own shoots (fashion and styled wedding). I will be showing you all the legal bits and bobs, like image licensing forms, model releases, contracts, etc. I will also be speaking to you about the importance of SEO, networking and being a social media nut. Also, I have lots of suggestions for getting your work noticed by big wedding blogs and magazines.

    • I will also be inviting some of the brilliant suppliers who I have worked with on the workshop to answer your questions and talk to you about the part they have played.

    • We will have a little lunch break (lunch is included, as well as tea/coffee all day long, you lucky so’n’so’s!)

    • I will have 2/3 scenes set up in a cool as eff location, just ready for you to photograph to your heart’s content. We will hopefully have 2 models and one real couple, all dressed up, looking the part.

    • We usually end the day in a local bar where we can all perv on each other’s work and get a much needed bevvy.

Please email me if you are interested in attending or hearing about my future workshops- info@amyfaithphotography.com. You will be added to the mailing list for now.
