Star Wars themed Rum Warehouse wedding – Andy & Craig
My summer wedding season was off to a flying start with the freakin’ awesome wedding of Andy & Craig. I had been so excited to work with these guys since meeting them as we had such a good laugh during their first and final consultations, I knew the wedding day was going to be a laugh riot.
You were our most rewarding experience of the wedding day, and continue to be so! I’m even taking more care and putting more effort into my own photographs… you’ve inspired me!! - Andy
It was also my first time shooting at the Titanic Hotel and Rum Warehouse on the dock road in Liverpool. The building next to the Titanic Hotel is the Tobacco Warehouse, something that absolutely dominates part of the Liverpool skyline and something that is very close to the hearts of every person in Liverpool. Everyone remembers early Sunday mornings dragging themselves down to the Heritage Market on the ground floor of the warehouse in the 80’s and 90’s and I’m sure there are tonnes of people who have attended an
illegal rave or two at the warehouse in the 90’s and 00’s 😉 For Andy & Craig’s wedding the warehouse offered a beautifully derelict backdrop for some of the amazing sunset portraits.
What I didn’t know before arriving at the wedding was that Andy is actually a huge Star Wars fan. Their venue was dotted with sooo many cute references to the movies. There was a certificate for Andy pledging him in as an official Jedi Knight, the table settings were all named after Star Wars characters, there were Star Wars masks for the photo booth in the evening and even the cake topper had a clever nod to a well known quote from movies:
“I love you.”
Funny thing is, while Andy is obsessive about Star Wars, Craig is definitely not a fan! I don’t think he even understood the cake topper reference, which did make me giggle. But you could tell that due to his love for Andy, Craig was totally willing to let Andy go wild with any reference he wanted to make to the movies… as long as he didn’t turn up to the ceremony dressed like Obi Wan Kenobi or, God forbid, a Wookie! HAHA!
What I loved most about Andy & Craig’s wedding was the amount of people crying during the ceremony. You can always tell how loved a couple are by the amount of tears from their friends and family. And this pair are LOVED. The speeches were hilarious and the evening do was raucous. A wonderful day for a wonderful couple.
Thanks to Agnes Black for being a great second shooter
And don’t forget Andy – BE CAREFUL!
