Rosie & Johnny – a fun and flowery back garden wedding
You can bet your bottom dollar that if an email starting with “we are having our wedding in our own back garden” appears in my inbox, I will be jumping for joy. There is something soooo wonderful about a couple wanting to celebrate their marriage right where they (or their family) live. It’s the most simple of ideas, yet it fills me with so much excitement that I could literally pee.
Another way to snatch my attention from the off is by telling me your dog will be the ring bearer. Or anything with dogs. Or cats. Or parrots. To be honest, ANYTHING involving something from the animal world and I am there with bells on.
And if you really want to grab hold of me, make sure you are as descriptive and as silly as you want in your first contact with me, whether that be by email or using my very handy contact form.
Rosie emailed me way back in 2015 and told me she laughed a lot at my blog. Then I proceeded to read the rest of her email and laughed all the way through too. I just knew she and Johnny were going to be my PERFECT kinda couple. And when I feel an instant connection like that, I get a tingling in my bones that tells me their wedding photographs are going to RULE THE SCHOOL.
I got to Rosie’s house in the morning to photograph bridal prep and the fun did not stop from the moment I said hello to her gaggle of brilliant bridesmaids, to the moment I hugged everyone goodbye on the dance floor late that night. One of my favourite parts of the day was meeting Johnny’s granddad in his glorious garden, where we were to photograph all of Rosie & Johnny’s couple portraits. Me, with my love for The Secret Garden, I like to seek out the locations that no one else would notice, the locations hidden behind trees or inside old green houses. I think Johnny’s poor granddad was a bit concerned with my location choices, haha, but I hope I did his lovely garden justice after all.
Please now take a moment to have a scroll through the images I captured during my amazing day with The Marsdens.
